How to Use Auto Selected Keywords

With Auto Selected keywords, Shopee chooses keywords and optimises them for your Product Search Ads.

Here are some tips if you choose to use Auto Selected Keywords for your Product Search Ads:

1. To increase your daily orders significantly (e.g. 5-20% increase), we suggest setting up Product Search Ads for at least 20 - 40 products at once

a) Advertise recommended products with "Best Selling", "Good ROAS" or "Top Searched" tags in the Shopee Ads product selector, as they have high sales potential when advertised

b) To learn more about what each tag means, simply click here

2. Plan on having at least $15 in ads credit for each product you advertise.

  1. This will allow the ads to run for 2 weeks and give you enough data to optimise your ads
  2. See sections 3-5 for more details on ad optimisation

3. Set a daily budget between $2 - 4 for each ad

  1. Some ads will perform better than others so you want to control the expense of each ad before you optimise them

4. Set your Target ROAS

  1. Let Shopee set the optimal ROAS target based on the selected products
  2. Select or customise your own ROAS Target

5. Check your ads after 5 - 7 days

  1. For ads that do well (e.g. have orders and ROAS that is acceptable to you), increase the daily budget
  2. We suggest you double or triple the daily budget
  3. For ads that do not do well (e.g. no orders or ROAS is unacceptable to you), switch off Auto-Selected Keywords
  4. If you wish to continue promoting that product, you may want to use manual keywords or Discovery Ads

6. Check your ads every 1 - 4 weeks

  1. For ads that do well, change the budget to unlimited

7. If you would like to optimise the performance of your Product Search Ads more:

  1. Instead of checking after 5 - 7 days, check on the 4th and 7th day
  2. For ads that do well, double or triple the daily budget
  3. For ads that do not do well
  4. If the ad has fewer than 200 impressions per day
  5. Manually add keywords
  6. If the ad’s daily budget is reached with fewer than 200 impressions, turn off Auto-Selected Keywords and add manual keywords. The cost per click is likely too high.
  7. When you edit your budget, you can check if your ad spend has ever reached your daily budget by reviewing the Max Daily Expense.

ii. If the ad has more than 200 impressions a day but fewer than 100-200 clicks, allow the ad to continue running.

iii. If the ad has more than 100-200 clicks, switch off Auto-Selected Keywords and manually add keywords.
