How to Use Ads
Find out more about how to set up and manage your ads to grow your business.
In order for your Product, Shop, Live and Search Brand Ads to be displayed, you will need to ensure that you have topped up sufficient ads credit. Do note that:
Shopee has 3 types of ads credit: general free credits, 1:1 free credits and paid credits. Shopee system will deduct ads credit in the following sequence:
1st General Ads Credit
2nd 1:1 Free Ads Credit
3rd Paid Ads Credit
[Notice] Unfinished credits lock subsequent ones. If a 1:1 Free Credit is paused due to insufficient Paid Balance, all subsequent credits (including General Free credit) are locked until cash is topped up.
Can find from Shopee Ads > My Account to check Free Ads Credit History. And from Consumption Type could refer to the detailed credit type consumed.
Question1: What is 1:1 free credit?
Answer: 1:1 Free Credit is one type of ads credit and could be consumed accompanied by the same amount (1:1 ratio) of paid credit in real-time deduction.
Question2: Can I choose which credit to consume first in my ads account?
Answer: No, platform will deduct the credit automatically based on credit priority.
Question3: I find that there are still free credits left in my account, but why could not use it?
Answer: Since unfinished credit packages lock subsequent ones, you need to consume all credit in one package then use the next.
Question4: There is still enough balance in my account, why can't I use it?
Answer: Can check your account credit balance to see if there is enough paid credit. If a 1:1 Free Credit is paused due to insufficient Paid Balance, all subsequent grants (including General Free Credit) are locked until cash is topped up.
Question5: Can I use the 1:1 free credit in Shopee APP?
Answer: No. Now 1:1 free credit is only supported on the PC platform. General credits and paid credits are usable across both PC and APP.
If you are topping up using your laptop:
1. Log into Seller Centre in your browser and click on "Shopee Ads". From your top up tab, you'll be able to see your credit balance and purchase Ads Credit by clicking Top Up
2. Select your preferred top up amount
3. Or you can customise your ads credit top up amount by clicking "Enter Amount"
4. Select a discount voucher for your ads credit top up, if any
5. Click "Go to Checkout"
Note: Your ads credit top up may need up to 30 minutes to be reflected in your account when our site is experiencing high traffic.
If you are topping up via Shopee app:
Auto Top-Up allows you to top up your Ads Credit from your Seller Wallet automatically, when your Ads Credit fall below a minimum threshold amount.
* Please note that Auto Top-Up for Mexico is currently only available to selected cross-border sellers.
If you are setting up using your laptop:
1. Click Top Up
2. Toggle on Auto Top-Up to begin set up
3. Specify the minimum threshold amount in Condition
4. Specify the Auto Top-Up amount in Top-Up Amount
5. Click Agree after reading the terms and conditions of Auto Top-Up
6. Enter your Seller Wallet PIN to authorise Auto Top-Up
7. If you don't have a Seller Wallet PIN, you will be prompted to set one up by
8. To change your minimum threshold or Auto Top-Up amount after setting up, select Change Setting
9. Toggle off to stop Auto Top-Up
If you are setting up using Shopee app:
1. Tap on "Top Up" at the top right of the Shopee Ads homepage
2. Tap on "Auto Top Up"
3. Enter your wallet PIN to begin set up
4. Specify the minimum threshold amount under "When Balance Falls Below"
5. Specify the Auto Top-Up amount under "Top Up Amount"
6. Tap on "Save"
7. To change your minimum threshold or Auto Top-Up amount after setting up, tap on "Edit"
8. Toggle off to stop Auto Top-Up
If you have insufficient Seller Wallet balance for Auto Top-Up, Shopee will send a notification to you and retry Auto Top-Up 3 times in the next 24 hours, followed by once a day for one month. After one month of failed top up, the Auto Top-Up function will be turned off. You are advised to perform a manual top-up if you want to replenish your Ads Credit immediately.
